xploration Into Typographic Perception was an assignment I worked on for my final major project. I looked into visual perception, researching into how colour, typography and distance can affect a consumer’s perception. I began by creating a book about the uses of typography, looking into how typographic elements can effect the overall feel to a piece of design. I decided to then move on from a book design to create a series of typographic posters. The aim was to produce a visually stimulating information design piece that represented the data I had collected from my target audience. This project was aimed at helping and educating younger designers, allowing the audience to make certain decisions when selecting specific type faces, weights, kerning styles, leading and point sizes.
